The Stone Garden

Mike Heide and Lea Daria John stepped into the Osaka House from April to the end of July 2025 to experience the pavilions for the World Expo and contribute to the house.

What started out as an ambition to build an indoor/outdoor shower in a stone garden met unexpected expenses from the Japanese plumbers and trash handling.

Nevertheless they delivered on tearing down the entire back room and the previous storage for the beds to rebuild as an indoor garden with a makeshift shower. Aiming to bring in more light, air and life to an otherwise enclosed space. While maintaining the overall architecture and intention of the space in the rest of the house.
